Powerhouse Factories’ 2014 public holiday party was built from a classic holiday party where the lights were the star. The Lights Out for the Holidaze Party poster was originally concepted to include glow in the dark ink, accentuating the simplicity of the design with inventive design techniques.

Built from wave forms from Ellie Goulding’s song, “Burn,” the screen printed poster design was made up of two split fountains and one black overlay. Simple typography contrasted the complex design. This poster was featured at the Firehouse Art Center in the Longmont Creative District in Longmont, CO as a part of the Powerhouse Factories retrospective art show.

The first performance at the newly rehabbed Woodward Theater was Electric Citizen with Ohio Knife on Thanksgiving Eve of 2014. With multiple layers of information to be communicated, the Thanksgiving Eve theme took priority, followed closely by the headliner. Hand drawn, illustrative styles paired with bold type combined to make a visually stimulating and information rich exploration in priorities.

When Powerhouse Factories merged with Empower MediaMarketing in 2013, a new creative agency was formed within Empower. As a new entity, new brand positioning was developed to help express the offering for clients. As a part of the new website design, a hand drawn version of that positioning was created to nod to the creative and hands on approach for which Powerhouse Factories is known.
